It has already been rumored that getting listed in DMOZ increases your page rank. Know one knows if this was from a special preference, or just from the syndication of their data by other sites.
Does anyone have any hard data to support this? Google is said to not have updated their copy of DMOZ directory info in two years. DMOZ is being said to be increasingly irrelevant to an internet that is growing much faster than they are. And that DMOZ is more and more unknown to knewer users.
Does the PR boost really happen, and does it still matter? |

My experience in the past was that a listing in the ODP itself had no affect at all on PR until Google updated it's own directory. Since Google no longer updates, I suspect a listing has no affect on PR. _________________ Former Editor: dogbows | Are You A Smoker? |
